Men in Blazers

Men in Blazers is a New York City-based television show, podcast, and digital brand, founded, operated and hosted by Roger Bennett and Michael Davies. It was first established in 2010 as a podcast covering global soccer and its reception in the United States on the ESPN website Grantland. Just four years later, during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Men in Blazers exploded into a bonafide cultural phenomenon, becoming one of the very first sports-focused podcasts to build a massive national following.

Shortly upon their return from Rio, Bennett and Davies were signed to produce a weekly television show for NBCSN, focusing on the English Premier League. The brand has since expanded its focus to include the NFL; NHL; golf's Open Championship, Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup; and the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain. The podcast, which has expanded from weekly soccer recaps to also include regular interviews with athletes and cultural icons, remains a fixture on the iTunes charts.  In May 2018, Bennett and Davies released their first book, Encyclopedia Blazertannica: A Suboptimal Guide to Soccer, America's 'Sport of the Future' Since 1972, which quickly became a New York Times Bestseller.

Men in Blazers, in conjunction with WJP, also helped pioneer and popularize the live podcast experience, starting with its first live event at New York’s Joe’s Pub in 2013, and growing into sold-out summer tours in multi-thousand seat concert venues from coast-to-coast. These tours bring together tens of thousands of soccer fans from every corner of the United States, and have included a range of guests including Billy Beane, Waka Flocka, and Megan Rapinoe.

Even through its years of rapid expansion, Men in Blazers’ signature style and singular focus — celebrating the beauty of sports by revealing its emotional arcs and epic storylines — has remained consistent.
